After a busy and all demanding career I now spend my time on what I love doing most: reading and writing. Oh yes, and also gardening, travelling, being with my family (dispersed across the world), learning to play the clarinet, cycling and ….
I have published three books: Half the World (April 2014) is a memoir about living in Iran during the revolution in the nineteen-seventies; Notes on Anna (Oct 2014) is a novel about a girl who escapes the narrow and claustrophobic upbringing of a religious community in The Netherlands; and For the Love of Ilsa is about a family dispersed across the world. When one of three siblings discovers a secret all three will have to reassess their relationships with each other as well as with their parents and partners
Books are available in paperback format and as e-pub. They can be bought from Amazon UK; from Amazon US (worldwide);.
Note that Half the World, Notes on Anna and the short stories are currently still available for NOOK and KOBO.
Don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
Happy reading – and of course, I would very much appreciate your reviews and ratings on the site you bought the book(s) from. Many thanks.
SHORTS
I have started a collection of short stories, two of which have meanwhile also been published and are available for your Kindle (world-wide and the UK), Nook or Kobo as well as directly from the author (see above link).
Living in East Germany under the watchful eye of the Stasi, trust and love are suspect. Suspicion runs deep about who is watching who. When the wall comes down Bach’s Motetten, performed in the St Thomaskirche in Leipzig, form the background music to Pastor Anselm’s betrayal of the woman he once loved.
When she stays in Rotterdam in the middle of the winter after having lived abroad a Dutch woman goes to the nearby town Delft to meet with an old school friend in rather sad circumstances. She realizes her alienation from everything and everyone living in the country of her birth and that there is no going back.

Sounds very interesting, Corri. How come it took you so long to write about it?

Life. 🙂 although I wrote a number of short stories I never edited fully or published any, for the simple reason that a day job always demanded too much of my time and energy. I’ve now retired so am able to focus on my writing. Working on a novel that’s been languishing in a drawer and some short stories. Very enjoyable!

Hi Corrie, I’ve finally got ‘Ignoring Gravity’ back from the copy-editor and wondered if you would like to review it on your blog? As it is an advance copy it is only available as pdf at this stage. Let me know what you think. Kind regards, Sandra

Which do you play A or B flat clarinet? You’re wise to choose the clarinet anyway as it’s one of the easiest musical instruments to learn.
