2012

One day into the new year and pretty soon we’ll be back in full routine again: going to bed on time, getting up on time, eating less, drinking less, making sure the house is tidy, putting away the decorations and looking at the photographs before filing them only to stumble upon them at some future date when we say ‘oh yes, remember?…’    Good intentions there are plenty but I will not list them, definitely not in  a public place so that I can be reminded.  No, I’m just going to carry on and figure out what the best way is to either do some proper editing of previous writing or to start something new.

Tomorrow we will wave goodbye to granddaughter and her parents still marvelling at the ease with which she switches from German to English and back again, her enthusiasm for the English idiosyncrasies and love of books and all forms of storytelling, reading and watching, storing the information and then reminding us faultlessly of things we had forgotten or not paid attention to.  We will miss her.

Back to the routine – here we come 2012.  According to today’s newspaper in a commentary  on some piece of scientific research,

future

optimism is ingrained in the human psyche.  So let’s just stick to that and not fret too much.  Cheers.

  2. Happy New Year! I am not very sure about that optimism, but I am struggling there 😉

  3. Kathleen: I’ll do the same: off work tomorrow to take a deep breath! Enjoy the day!

  4. Ally: Know how you feel, cheer up and hopefully all will be well. Optimism comes and goes!
