I am editing a number of short stories that I wrote over the years. The first one is now available on Kindle, Kobo and Nook. The story is called Motet of Betrayal and is about a pastor who, against the background of a performance of the Motetten in the famous St. Thomaskirche in Leipzig and seeing there the woman he once loved, confronts his life and what he did when living in East Germany before the wall came down.
The characters in this story are completely fictional although the circumstances of what happened in East Germany under the Stasi (the East German secret police) is of course something we now know much more about. Sitting in that church and listening to a performance of the Bach Motetten, years ago now, I let my thoughts and imagination reign freely.
